Introduction

MySQL

MySQL is a relational database. Instead of storing information in scattered files, it stores it in organized tables made of rows and columns, similar to a very powerful spreadsheet that many people and programs can use at the same time. You do not need to memorize every command on day one. This course teaches one small idea at a time: what a database is, how to build tables, how to insert and retrieve data, how to filter and sort it, how tables connect to each other, and eventually how real applications are built on top of a database. The goal is not to type commands from memory. The goal is to understand what a query is actually asking the database to do, so you can read and write SQL with real understanding, not guesswork.
